An Overview
Our office provides immigration legal services at an affordable rate for people in North Louisiana. We can help with family-based applications, such as legally bringing a relative to the United States and/or helping a family member already here become a legal permanent resident and get a green card.
We also provide assistance with applications for citizenship, green card renewal, DACA and DACA renewal, as well as other humanitarian benefits such as Temporary Protected Status, U-Visas for victims of crime, and self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act for victims of domestic abuse.
We do not assist with deportation defense or detention work, but make references to attorneys who do for those in need.
Our Process
Because immigration laws can be complicated, we require a significant amount of information about a client’s situation before we can offer legal advice or assistance. Therefore, we have an intake form that must be completed in order to determine which service a client may be eligible for and the best way to proceed. After receiving a consultation fee and reviewing a client’s intake form, our attorney will provide information about a client’s options as well as discuss further fees and documentation required to move forward.
As a part of our mission at Catholic Charities, we strive to make our legal services accessible to people who may not be able to afford private attorneys. Our fees are low, and we do not turn anyone away just because they cannot pay. If someone has a true need and limited resources, we may be able to provide a discounted rate or in some special cases, waive our fee altogether.
