Development Manager

Overview

Catholic Charities North Louisiana is seeking a creative, strategic thinker who can lead our communications and fundraising efforts. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to build awareness of Catholic Charities and ensure the organization has the financial resources to fulfill its mission of serving families in poverty. 

The position requires someone who can build relationships, lead campaigns and coordinate events that promote the mission and engage the community in our work. Catholic Charities Development Manager should also be able to tell the story of our success in a way that respects clients and inspires donors. 

Primary Duties

    1. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create a development plan that increases brand awareness and revenue to support the strategic direction of Catholic Charities of North Louisiana.

    1. Serve as the staff lead for the Board’s Fundraising and Marketing Committee

    1. Seek out and cultivate relationships with potential donors

    1. Create and execute a strategy for growth in monthly donors

    1. Plan, organize and evaluate special events by leading and motivating committees of board members and community volunteers.

    1. Develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, social media and maintaining the website

    1. Support department and program leaders with grant writing and editing.

Requirements

    1. 2+ years of fund development or nonprofit experience

    1. Bachelors degree in marking, communications, nonprofit management or related field

    1. Passion for serving our clients and the community at large

    1. Excellent writing and communication skills

    1. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with diverse groups of coworkers, donors, volunteers and clients

    1. Familiarity with databases and reporting

    1. Valid driver’s license

Work location and hours

Standard hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in person. The position will require occasional travel and some evening and weekend events.
